Seasons pass. CG and Reese get along great. Inalia grows lonely after Kenik made his thoughts on her clear and Reese left the village. Stella is well enough to work again, helping around the house, skinning game and the like. Veli continues hunting, Marek continues praying as the priest's son, and Kenik becomes quite bashful at Marek's unrelenting, entirely not-queer kindness. We pick up in winter, nearly a year later, with Inalia asleep in her bed.
